try a local jewelry store, maybe you can find the "K" there, if that doesnt work, go for something like a charm bracelet. Also, recently at Walmart I noticed they have these silver necklace charms that they can engrave a picture of people on so if you have a picture of the two of you that would be a cool idea.

another creative idea would be get pictures of all your friends and make her an album with each person's picture on a page by itself with a birthday message from each of them...

You could give her cash which is actually the best gift. With cash you can spend the money any where and not just in one store like a gift card. Or you could ask her Mom if she was talking about what she wanted for her birthday.

I would definitely get her something for her car since 16 is the magic number when you can drive without someone in the car with you!!

well it depends, if your budget is 40 dollars, you might be screwed over

but for my friends graduation, me and some friends combined money, and got a tiffany letter carm necklace for her

for example the necklase you might be able to find at a store like macy's or somethign like it. (don't buy one that is on the side on special they look really cheap) or maybe you could buy her clothes.

go to the store where she might buy most of her clothes and your problem is fixed. a nice shirt or nice pair of jeans maybe even under $40.

tarot cards, a dream dictionary, a journal embossed with her initials, or just take her out to a great lunch

Get her a visa gift card. I think you should let her get what she wants.
