T-Shirts giveaway as advertising?
Anyone here ever use t-shirt giveaways to promote your service? I am thinking about giving away free t-shirts to use as advertising for my on-line cruise agency 1Cheapcruise.com.
Thanks.

I am probably a bit bias on this, being that I own an embroidery and screen printing shop that produces promotional T's, but yes they work great! T's are fairly inexpensive and they are valued by people. Plus they serve as advetisment for your compnay when people are walking around with them. I had a client give them away at a tradeshow and they called back a week later telling me that people saw the t's around town and called to place orders for their products/services. Take a look for extra ideas: www.bellamaxdesign.com

Free t-shirts are ok but boring alone. So what a tee shirt, who's really going to wear it ? unless it is really cool looking and appealing to one group or another it just something that will sit in a draw or worn to do yard work. With that said if you were to advertise that everone that books or walks through the door (however your giving them away) gets a t-shirt and is also registered to win a set of luggage (that you buy from over stock .com or discountinued wholesale item). once a month, once a quarter, bi annually whatever it makes that tee shirt a bigger deal. The luggage is an idea but it could be anything with a seeming big value. If it gets the door opening what do you care, write it off and if it doesn't then you use the luggage and go have a blast.
Another idea would be to keep a rack full of hawian shirts by the door and if they seem interested in a trip get up and throw them a couple better shirts, it costs more but their going to take that home and look at it over and over, if your name is on there small better yet cause they'll wear it and remember you. But common sense hopefully tells you to come up with something else if their booking to Alaska but get them laughing, ( get them on vacation) while their sitting in your shop and you've got the sale and can easily make not only a profit on the shirt but when their feeling great sitting in front of you with their hawian shirts on and a couple lays $ cash will magically start flying out for the extras. Ofcourse unless they seem interested give them the dam t-shirt sign them up for the luggage and get them out so you can make some sales.

As a matter of fact, our company is currently developing a promotion to give out free t-shirts as a mean of advertising. Our company offers customization for t-shirts and other accessories as well, such as buttons, jigsaw puzzles, or watches. Please let me know if your giveaway is successful, so we can compare our results and possibly work together in the future.
