Sam Querrey?

This kid has made some strides in his game recently and with his serve could perhaps become a factor in more small events throughout the year. What are your expectations for his ranking, results and where he will rank among the American players this year.

I would not be surprised if he gets to the top 35, wins an event when everyone else is at the Olympics and ends the year as the #3 American

This has nothing to do with your question but....Sam Querrey looks exactly like the Grinch WHO STOLE CHRISTMAS ..Think about it..

I don't think that will happen. I'm calling a long shot here, but I think Ginepri will be the #3 American at the end of the year. He has been playing really well this year, and he is my pick to win in Vegas. He will slowly but surely raise his ranking.

I think Querrey is too inconsistent. I know that he has an excellent serve, but the court movement isn't there. If he wants any success, he needs to have a small breakthrough in a slam. All he really needs is a fourth-round appearance or something. He doesn't have the talent to go beyond that. At least not yet. I do wish he gets better, but I don't think it will happen this year.

The U.S. media has been giving this kid so much undeserved hype the last couple of years, I don't see how Querrey could possibly ever live up to it. He doesn't seem to have the heart of a champion, at least not from what I've seen. Donald Young is another one who has had so much advance billing without any meaningful results to warrant it, but I think Young has more potential than Querrey, because of his variety and good movement. Once Young matures physicially, he will overtake Querrey, and possibly even Blake. But for now and in the immediate future, I think Querrey is the third best American player, and probably a top 40 player at best.

he will definitely need to continue making strides forward to have any affect on the game and his game. While he has a good serve, its is groundstrokes, impatience that gets him into trouble. With Roddick's usual inconsistent play, and Blake having yet to win a big one, and Ginepri being so up and down, and Fish with injuries, as well as with them getting "older", we dont have any up and coming Americans besides he and Young. Same could be said for the women.

I have seen him play. He has a good game and often chokes

on big points. Unless he improves on those he wont move up.

There are many many such players like Sam in the world and

one tournament is not a top link, but playing good all around is

the key. He has the potential, but a long shot.
