How much is gas in your area???

OH MY GOD!!! I am soo mad right now...gas went from $3.00 to $3.30 today!! Is it frustrating to anyone else that no one in our gov't seems to care about this issue? No wonder Americans are in debt! All of our $$ goes to our gas tanks, just so we can get to work!

Sorry guys...just very frustrated right now....so whats the price in your area?

Update:

I live in a rural area, no car pool or public transpo available here...(Central IL) I am also very careful with my driving, I don't go anywhere unless its necessary! Currently I get about 22mpg

Update 2:

I guess I kinda want to know what WE can do to fix this ongoing problem in our country...any ideas? Why don't senators/congressman seem to care about this issue?

Here in Rochester NY it $3.23 I thinks its expensive. The reason gas prices are increasing is not because of oil is running out, its because our government is cheap. 12% of our gasoline is imported pre-refined because our gov is too cheap to rebuild the refineries lost in the hurricanes, etc. I think we should start drilling more oil here in the USA to save us some money. Oil is constantly being replenished naturally so it will not runout.

I hate to be all political and all but I blame the Bush administration for our fuel problems. The oil companies know that we need the gas in our everyday lives and they know that if they pay off the right people, Bush, that they can charge whatever they want.

    Solution: Hybrid

The best solution to the problem is to buy a Prius or Civic hybrid. They get great gas mileage in the city. You will be giving a little of your money to the oil companies as possible, with the exception of riding a bike.

I soon plan to ditch my Trailblazer for a Prius.

    Good Luck America.

It's around $3.60 in California right now. I would love it to go down to Illinois levels.

Yes, it's frustrating, but it's part of life. Consider getting a more fuel-efficient car (maybe even make the leap to a hybrid) and try to set up a carpool with someone if you can.

    $3.20 :(

    heres some tips to help

just take out ALL unnecessary weight, if you dont have kids then unbolt the back seats if you dont drive that far, take the spare tire out and keep a can of fix a flat in the car, take anything out that you dont need, empty bottles, trash, bags, books, anything THAT YOU DONT NEED

i have done that and i got about 1.6mph better on my cars info screen

keep your tires inflated about 1-2 more then the manufacture recommends

this one doesnt do that much maybe helps 1%

wash wax (turtle wax ice) and polish (turtle wax ice) your car, you'll be amazed by how much smoother your car will drive

dont fall for those people that say use higher octane gas that does not give you better mpg if anything it lowers it because higher octane burns better and faster

you could try using fuel injector cleaner but dont expect a magical jump in your mpg

change your air filter many people dont realize that those get clogged very fast, they are sucking up air from in front of you car (leaves, trash, bags, ect. can get sucked up in there) i clean mine every month (i have an after market you may want to get one if your keeping your car for a long time i like Fram brand)

use cruise control every time you can

coast to stop lights, dont give it gas till you up to the light

dont keep tapping the brakes then giving it gas, even if your speeding a little its ok (as long as its not 10 over cops most of the time give a break)

This morning, when I rode my bicycle past the gas station here in KY, it was 3.25

Doesn't bother me so much since I commute by bicycle and have an economy car for groceries etc.

In NJ, we're paying $2.95/gallon, but we're supposedly going up 15 cents a gallon next week.

3.09/gal in Austin,TX. Why doesn't Washington do something? Where do the Reps and Sen's get their money from? All you have to do is follow the money trail.
