Is the weak dollar intentional for North American unity?
It comes from a sarcastic comment about the "Amero," but it set off a bit of a conspiracy theory prospect:
Are we killing the dollar (making it weak) to put it on par with the other weak currencies so that it will be easy to convert them all into the "Amero" as a universal North American currency? What do you think?

yes you notice how its stabilized against the Canadian Dollar, they are at parity, I still don't get what Canada would get out of it, they are fiscally responsible and the USA is not.

There's no reason for the dollar would need to be weak to implement an Amero. The Euro replaced a bunch of currencies with various levels of strength when it was introduced -- all they did is have the weak currencies transition at a large number to a euro, and the strong currencies transition at a small number to a euro.
I think the Amero concept is mostly a conspiracy theory, but even if it wasn't, devaluing the American currency would not be the way to go about it.

Silly idea. We are not going to have a "Euro" dollar style of currency in North America. Mexico might like the idea but there are more than twenty countries in North America and Canada for one will not give up their standards in our decimal system of currency. Too "American" for us. The Province of Quebec is too independent for the States, and the western provinces will not allow it by the willpower of ego alone!
The reason the American dollar is at the point it is now and the Canadian dollar is at it's point is the same reason the Mexican Peso is at it's own value. The state, and flux and flow of the market dictates the values of each currency. No conspiracy here, just the global effects of the market.

I think that would have to be crammed down American's throat and would result in near revolution. At least I hope it would.
