Go with your gut. If you felt he was weird then he probably was and it isn't worth the risk.

If a guy you don't know asks you out it can kinda freak you out especially if it's a totally random person. My philosophy is that if you don't know me how can you like me enough to want to go out with me? Most of the time when offers come my way, it's flattering, if not a little on the creepy side.

Just politely refuse but if you're not creeped out by him you can still talk, maybe become friends. Just be cautious, anything is possible and you can never be too cautious. Pick your date's wisely, and don't let yourself be caught off guard. It's okay to date someone, even someone you don't know, just be careful.
