How does smaller-sized rackets get more control?

I understand that larger rackets has more power, but shouldn't a bigger racket also mean that it should be a bit easier to also have more control like making spins (because there's a bigger area)? Could someone explain it in a simple way?

Spots, the bigger head size means more power and less control because it trampolines the ball more.

The smaller head means less power and more control since it is less of a trampoline and requires you to generate your own power but allows you to return with accuracy.

As for spin it is more easily generated off of a wider or more open string pattern frame like a 16 x 19 rather than an 18 x 20 or a HD racquet (high density - where the room between strings is less) tighter string patterns are good for control but not for imparting spin.

Another way to get spin is to use textured strings and/or string savers in them. Lux BB ALU Rough strings and Head Rip Control are just two examples of textured strings that are not smooth but rough and allow you to catch more of the ball and impart spin or slice on it when you brush it. Having string savers in the sweet spot also add to the texture or brush ability. Hope this helps.

I went back down to a smaller racquet head (90) and love it. It also has the 50/50 stringing that Fed uses. The only thing I'm not fond of is the grip is too cushioned for my liking. I can't feel the grip change as easily. I might regrip it soon.

Demo a bunch of smaller ones and see what you think.
