What can I do to better my chances on a long-distance job search?

I'm living in Florida now, and we'll be moving to Vermont in a couple of months. I'd love to get a job before we get there. Any help or advice would be appreciated!

My background is primarily in sales and fundraising.

    use and explore the job info at hte us dept of labor. my tips thought, are contact the state employment agency. and chambers of commerce in the area you are interested in. tell them you are relocating and they will be glad to tell you many things.

    also see the tourist depts of those areas as well. they have come in handy for me when i moved.
