I think that RCHP should definitely be categorized as legends. They are an inspiration to many people, they have a unique sound, and have had many hit songs. I think they will be in the rock and roll hall of fame for sure. There is a website where you can vote on bands that you want to be in the hall of fame or not, though it has no effect on who really gets inducted, but it gives you an idea. Check it out: www.futurerockhall.com

I love the Chili Peppers!
I see the Dani California music video almost everyday at work. I think it's awesome.
I think they very well deserve the legend status, or almost. They are talented and produce very good music. Fantastic music in fact.

your friend is overreacting...the red hot chilli peppers are gonna be legends soon if they're not legends yet...they've been through A LOT. i'm sure they didn't mean to offend anyone, its an awesome song, and a comical video...it puts you in the mood, people really need to start seeing the bright side of things.

I don't think they were putting themselves in the same group as the legends they portrayed. I don't think that was their point at all. I think they were having fun and paying tribute, that's all.

they've even said themselves that they respect and love all of the eras of rock music. they weren't categorizing themselves as legends (even though they clearly are) :D
i looove them.
i liked when they did the hair metal the best, john looks so cute!

Personally, I found the video hilarious. I enjoyed it. I think it was their way of paying homage to these great bands who have inspired music of today.

i think if she doesn't like it, she has every right to.. just because one music video disappoints a bunch of people doesn't mean they're not one of the greatest bands ever (and have been for decades)
