My computer sound/speakers don't work!?

i turn my computer on and the sound doesn't work.. The speakers are plugged in..it doesn't even show up on that little side menu next to the time (volume control not showing up)! I looked on the control panel, and it doesn't show that i even have a sound device!/ help me please

By the way. Microsoft Kernel Wave Audio mixer has a yellow exclamation mark next to it..and when i try to fix it, it won't let me trouble shoot.

    you need to go into control panel, then sound and audio devices..click on audio and make sure that the sound system is correct in audio device drop down box...

    Your Sound Device manager thing doesnt show up haha it happend to me last week same thing go to

    1) Press Start

    2) Go to control panel

    3)click sounds,speeches, and audio devices tab

    4)Click Sounds and audio devices tab

    5) Click Hardware Tab Then click trouble shoot it will evnetually work again

    6) trouble shoot all sound devices to make sure then whaa laa ur finished

    He is most likely going to send you a downloadable file. When you get it and download it, you'll probably have to restart your computer. Worked like a charm for me.

    Your audio driver is messed up.

    Depending on the soundboard you have, you can download the realtek audio driver from the website.

    Restore your computer, maybe you accidentally deleted a something.
