how to improve memory cell and remove memory blocks please help

    I don't know anything about removing memory blocks, but in my Ed. Psych. class we just finished a unit on memory.

    Long-term memory is based on rehearsal and coding of information stored in the working memory. Coding is basically taking old information that is already stored in your head and pairing it with new information that you want to remember. For example, say these things out loud:

    One is a bun.

    Two is a shoe.

    Three is a tree.

    Now if I'll ask you to make associations between the information I've given you, and new things that I want you to remember.

    One is a lamp (Example, your association might be, the LAMP warms the BUN).

    Two is a glove (Example, foot is to SHOE as hand is to GLOVE).

    Three is fire. (Example, the TREE is on FIRE).

    So now if I ask you what is the second item? You will think, "Two is a shoe, shoe goes on the foot, glove goes on the hand - two is glove." And you'd be right!

    My point - Try to pair any new information you want to store with something old that you already know.

    Also, short term memory thrives on repetition and requires constant attention. So, if you want to remember that you parked your car in B47, you must keep repeating to yourself "B47...B47...B47"

    You need to first relax for tension/stress impedes your memory which is something you do not want-drink some chamomille tea-relaxes just enough but not to point where you gt sleepy, Can also take Holy Basil-can get any Health Food store as you can the Chamomille-it improves memory and health in general and has no negative reactions with other meds and will relax so your brain functions at its highest capacity-its well worth checking out. Instead of just rereading text book and memorizing ***Concentrate on the main topics and then a summary of the information that relates to that topic. I will often do a OUtline where for each chapter I will make Headings out of the Main points Of INformation as for example I. The Test and then underneath a.b.c. d.etc will list the points that I need to remember about the topic in order of importance Then Go on to II or 2 and again a,b,c etc until I've covered the scope of the material that will be on the exam(test) then I will go back and study until I can comfortably give a summary of the important information for each topic. Your memory will begin kicking in already as you are doing the outline and then going back and restudying you are fine tuning your memory. This makes the material much easier to remember for you are only concentrating on the important words and eliminating unneeded words that will only clog your memory cells unnecessarily-you remember more by having less to remember.It will also improve your ability to pick out from all the information given in a text just the important info that explains the topic and leaving out the clutter words. This method ,because it makes it so much easier to study,to retain information will also boost your confidence which will relax you for you know that you really know what you need to know .     Memory can be classified in two different categories...

    1) Storage

    2) Recalling time

    As far as storage is concent, we really can't do anything in this regard as we can keep as many things as other can and its more or less same in all individuals. Storage capacities diminishes with old age as neuron cells dies with rapid rate and there is no cure for that.

    We can improve recalling abilities with doing things more often or with good concentration. All one has to do is to take interest in the subject what he/she want to keep in memory.

    Unfortunately there are no tablets or medicine that does this! If anyone promising to improve your memory by medicines; that person simply telling lies.

    Count 1 to 100 and 100 to 1 bit loudly with uniform speed twie a day. If you mis the count, start from the beginning. Practice this daily.

    Drinking Indian Mulberry fruit jucie is very useful for enhancing the memory.

    Meditation

    This is the only thing which you can improve your natural memory.

    It has helped me a lot.

    Try to be alone for 10min in a dark room. Sit down on your lap and never rest your back. The room should be completly dark and you breath completly taking a deep breath and try to focus on only single thing in your mind

    Learn vocal/ instrumental music.

    Listen to flute,sitar,sarod,tabla,violin, santoor etc.

    Play with a small child daily for one hour.

    Help your family members in household to remain joyful.

    Keep yourself fit and active by regular life. seven hours sleep at night only. Avoid latenight.

    Balanced diet four hours in day time. Water each two hours in day time.

    whatever you see try to make a image of that and later on try to relate with other images you imagined.

    like the way you memorise MAP of city

    what ever you try to learn form a tree structUre of that like ur family tree.

    drink omega 3, its good for your brain, u can buy some flavored from your local supermarket, take 2 spoonfuls a day or something.

  • ginseng is supposed to improve memory...they have those little ginseng drinks in vials in the health food stores. also...keep your mind stimulated.
