Of course! The heat from the straightener can seriously dry your hair out, and if the straightening isn't done right, you can get your scalp burnt! Obviously, nothing is ever permanent, because hair doesn't stop growing. And when new, un-straightened hair grows in, it's often worse than it ever was before you straightened it. My hair was mostly straight before I got it straightened (bad idea!!), and when it started to grow back, it was a little frizzy, when before it was only wavy. It also has little 'life', so to speak. Before it would move whenever my head moved, but now it's a bit lifeless. So think carefully before you straighten your hair! Hope that helped!

If you have a good ceramic stragitener (not some $15 one from wal mart but one from a beauty supply store or a salon), and good protective products 9sleek.look iron spray that blocks up to 400F and the sleek.looks styling cream for extra protection) along with a trim every 6-8 weeks, straightening isn't all that bad for your hair. I do all of this and have for years and my hair is just fine-very shiny and healthy enough to also color every 6 weeks. Of course you are going to have breakage if you use any heating tool, but its all about protection!

Yes, no matter anyways to straighten your hair it would cause damage. Maybe no major but it will and if you do it often you can feel your hair quality to get worst. There is no way to prevent it other than not straightening at all or use a wig.

It can lead to spilt ends , dry lifeless hair , broken hair etc . you have to condition you hair more often with protein treatments . Also get a heat protectant before straightening so that you reduce the negative affects of the heat on your hair .

yes it can, but if you use an ionic straightener, it is better. Also use a leave in conditioner on your ends when you do it.
I wouldn't do it everyday, but about 3 times a week shouldn't hurt your hair too much.

Your hair gets very dry, and heaps of split ends.
If you want to straight your hair don't do it as often.
Do not straighten your hair everyday if it doesn't need it.

The effects are:
Dry brittle hair,
dandruff,
itching scalp,
hair may break if let under the iron in just 1 place, too long.
can burn hair and make it fall out.
some others,
just can't remember.

Yes, it does lead to those, especially dry hair.
Use a leave-in conditioner
