How do I stop getting random calls on my cell phone?

I am a member of T-mobile and I am deaf. I get at least two calls from people I don't know a week. sometimes these people call back over and over. Sometimes I get so annoyed if they call I just pick up and yell into the phone that they have the wrong number. I also set my voice mail so it alerts people I cannot hear on the phone (which is supposed to give the obvious hint I am not going to pick up the phone and talk) I use the cell phone for text messaging and that is it. However it is getting very irritating with all these phone calls from people I do not know. The numbers are not only local but come from Nevada or PA, or once even CA. How do I get these calls to stop so I do not have to deal with this?

if these are callers that are actually trying to get a hold of someone, text them back (i'm guessing you have unlimited texting) and tell them that you do not recognize their number and tell them they have the wrong number.

if you type the number online (google) and find it on the list, yes sign up for the do not call list. these callers could be telemarketers.

You could also put them on your block list on your phone (most phones have this feature) they will automatically get directed to your voicemail.

You need to go back to the tmobile store from which you brought your phone, and communicate to them that the phone number that you have must have been used before and you are getting strange phone calls from numbers you dont know. Make sure that you tell the rep that you are only using the phone for text. Then tell him/her that you would like a new phone number. You should be able to walk out of the store with a new phone number. Just make sure that it is a corporate store, and not an authorized dealer. Hope this helps.

They are probably people calling the wrong number, it's nothing to get upset about or anything, everyone dials wrong numbers.
