Long distance job search?

I'm living in Florida and looking for a job in Vermont. How can I get employers to talk to me long distance?

I'm a recruiter and I am happy to have an initial telephone interview with candidates regardless of where they are located. You can find jobs through employer's sites and job boards and then apply, and be considered in the same respect as any other candidate initially.

However, whilst an employer will often hold a first interview over the phone, it's unlikely that they would actually hire you without meeting you in person. It could be that you need to arrange to spend a couple of days in Vermont in advance of your move, just to attend interviews. I appreciate that it's a long way to travel, but if you've already had one interview then you'll know that the employer is serious, and maybe you could line up several interviews for while you're there.

Better get enrolled in job sites. They will arrange online interview. If employer is satisfies you need not worry about calls. They will ring to you regardless of distance.

I got my current job using monster.com (living in Montreal, wanted to work in Boston).

It depends what you want for a job too. Another way is to have an idea of companies that youu want to work for and apply directly to them online or by fax.

most employers in my field will pay your transporation and lodging for either first and second interview or do conferenc call for first and then fly you for the second.

Perhaps they might have an on-line job search or application information. I'm certain there are websites that can direct you. Good luck, and plan on some long bitchin' winters.
