i wonder what the insurance company covering the mortuary would pay to the person whose relative burned up. what's a corpse worth? maybe they would just pay the cremation expense.

The mortuary's insurance should cover their costs, and you should receive a refund for the casket burial, if they don't file bankruptcy. As to the cremation, that's just an act of God, and there's not really anything that can be done.

They have a machine for this now. It rehydrates the ashes into a body again. It can also turn beef jerky back into cows- but they are still dead too.
