Long jump..or high jump?
So, I've been doing high jump 4 two years. I believe the highest I've jumped, is 3'9", which isn't that great. I love the high jump, but the thing is, I tried long jump, and jumped 9'5". On my first time. Ppl keep telling me 2 do long jump.
Which one do you think I should do?
I can only pick ONE 4 the track meet :(
9'5"= 9 feet, and 5 inches..

Well I think if you're better at the long jump you should do it. I think eventually you'll really like it as much as the high the jump because you'll be good at it. That long jump length was amazing! Good luck in whatever you decide. I'd prefer the long jump myself.

Answer the question for yourself. You have been high jumping for 4 years...Is 3'9" a really good jump for someone of your experience level? Answer that question as if someone else were asking that question about a friend of yours.
Then- Ask your coach if you could do one full session just doing long jump. You have developed good thighs by high jumping, however, if you are a really good sprinter, you can combine the power of your thighs plus the speed of your spring, and who knows...You might really surprise yourself and others even more. I'd say give the long jump a really good go, and see which one you think you're best suited for.
Good luck!
