eBay Question - Would You Respond To This Feedback?
I won two small items back-to-back from the same seller on eBay. The keychain was $12 and the necklace was $8 and the seller wanted $3/each to ship them. I asked the seller for a shipping discount. The seller agreed to a (whopping) $1 off.
Imagine my surprise when I received the items over one week later (from only one state away) in a plain white handwritten envelope with one stamp stuck on it!
In my feedback, I wrote: "Brand new as described, Thank you, but shipping was slow/poor quality for $ paid"
Seller then replied: "OK but makes unjust shipping complaints!!"
This really upsets me because I always pay immediately and have 100% positive feedback. There was nothing unjust about what I said.
Would you respond to this seller? And if so, what can I say in 80 characters?

No one reads positive feedback. They just glance over the negatives. I really wouldn't worry about it. You got your items undamaged. Ebay feedback is a joke anyway. People who speak their mind usually get attacked by sellers.
Edit: To Daisy: eBay could care less about minor shipping overages. They won't act on it. To them, $5 to ship 2 items sounds perfectly acceptable. If you pay with paypal, the seller has 7 days to ship per paypal's agreement. Per ebays agreement the seller has a whopping 30 days to ship the items. It is over and done, feedback has already been left. Having ill feelings will gain you nothing but a headache.

This would upset me too. I would tell them that I feel that it was unacceptable to charge so much for shipping when they only bought a stamp. I would then ask why was the shipping so high if that was all they were going to do? I would want them to credit my account the amount of shipping I paid minus whatever the stamp cost. Explain that if you cant resolve this issue calmly then you will contact the customer service department of E-bay and let them deal with this seller.
Hope all goes well for you
PS. I asked a seller why they were charging so much for shipping as the same thing happened to me. And in the end we came to a mutal agreement on the shipping costs and I was refunded via paypal the extra money I felt I had over paid. Everything was settled and everyone was happy in the end.

Feedback used to infuriate me but i learnt not to give a damn, was hard trust me i took ebay way too seriously, at the end of the day the seller wanst to have the last word, you can add a folow up and a comment under what they left you but it will only make the feedback comment stand out....my advice is leave it, it wont effect you in the slightest....i know how u feel i really do it took me ages to get ebay out of my system and realise you cannot please everyonw, i even wrote a blog about feedback lol http://negative-feedback.blogspot.com/

Shipping charges were listed. You knew all terms of sale prior to purchase. Live with it!
