Chinese language put me in trouble?
Dear readers,....
I don't know Chinese. Unfortunately, while i try to find phone number directories and people search sites in China, they are mentioned in chinese so i don't understand.
i'd like to ask your help to find our American family friend, Mr. George - Macguire,59. His mid-name 'Paul' may not be recorded. We don't remember his birth place, Hawaii or China. He'd been living in Honolulu before 1975.
Surely he is living in China now.
what should we do.
We look forward to your message & appreciate your assistance. Thank you.

Here is a very simple question, what's his nationality? He must be registered on the embassy's list if he has been stayed in China longer than 6month legally including the street address and/or contactable cel-phone number. Chinese language is out of the matter for solution and not essential at all. Why don't you ask the embassy first?

Good idea to contact the embassy. Although, even though it is law to register with the nearest PSB (public security bureau) and get a residence permit if staying longer than six months, many foreigners do not do this. But it is your best bet, sorry I didn't think of that before. Not sure what the embassy regulations are on giving out that kind of information but that is a good idea.
