What do you think of him in the first place? Isn't that what a relationship should be about? If you like the guy, then you can give him a chance, if you don't, then don't.

If you think the only reason he's interested in pursuing something with you is to get connected with your parents, then I don't think you should go out with him. But who knows, maybe he really does like you. Try to be sure first, before jumping to conclusions.
