How is this a violation? Why was it deleted?

How/when did your child begin to sleep through the night?

I asked that in the parenting and the newborn categories. It got deleted due to a "chatting" violation. Maybe since YahooAnswers isn't answering me, someone else might have an idea.

What do you think?

Update:

In response to Lori's answer:

But my baby is not having trouble sleeping through the night. He's only 7 weeks. I want to know what other parents did, and when it happened. That is my question.

I know you were trying to help. Thank you, but I still don't understand.

    I believe that this isn't a violation.

But there can be two reasons:

A troll (A bad person who wants to remove/delete all your answers/question because s/he wants your account to be deleted.) is following up your track.

This question was removed in error by the Yahoo! Answers staff.

If the answers team didn't listen to you, then don't worry man, this happens with most of the users. Just don't post answers-abuse more than a time.

Or if you didn't then post your reason to ' answers-abuse@cc.yahoo-inc.com '.

    Bye!

  • The unfortunate thing is that there are MANY users who are just extremely report happy... especially when it comes to the "chatting" violation. It's as if they consider anything with the words "you" or "your" to be chatting, which is a violation of the community guidelines. For instance, they consider, "What's your favorite color?" to be chatting. It's absolutely ridiculous! And I completely understand your frustration as I have been a victim of unjustified/malicious reporting.

Y!A's FAQ says that a question or answer will be removed if it's reported by one or more "reliable users." If the circumstance is more serious then the Answers staff may remove a question or answer themselves after reviewing it. However, the majority of the time they're just automatically removed and violation notices are issued, because of the way the Y!A system is designed. I personally feel the whole reporting/violation system needs to be changed because innocent questions and answers will be reported/removed while others, that are extremely offensive, are left alone. PLUS, I know that there are waaaaaay too many trolls disguised as "reliable users" who are out to get other users they don't like by wrongfully reporting them.

Furthermore, people who state their opinions are being reported as well. And Y!A says that having a strong opinion is NOT a justifiable reason for reporting someone. They just ask that users "do not use slurs to refer to groups of people, do not insult other members, and do not act in a belligerent manner towards others" when stating their opinions. Unfortunately other users still do report opinionated questions or answers regardless of the fact that they don't violate any of the community guidelines. This is EXTREMELY frustrating because honest Y!A users shouldn't have to pay the price for report happy trolls!
