Keep trying...In fact, I would ask to meet with managers of places where you want to work (you can drop in professionally dressed and ready between 2:15p and 4:00 - not during lunch or dinner rush). Drop off a resume if they are not available to meet then, and ask when it would be a good time to come back....
See many places may be planning on hiring someone or thinking about it, but for one reason or another haven't gotten to it, or even put the ad in the paper. You are then positioning yourself to be the easy choice as opposed to competing with everyone else who answered the ad, too. Realize that this approach might cause you to drop by 25 places, but you are also planting seeds for the future - They may even keep your resume on file for when they are looking, too.
You can also try an agency, like www.hospitalitystaffing.com and have them look into non-restauant venues (resorts, cafeterias, catering) if you don't want to pursue those areas yourself.
Don't loose heart - stay positive and good luck!

you've only been looking for 2 weeks... The job market is not that good . Even if you are doing everything right ,it could take months or longer to find a job. The job market is a cold place . You'll need a thick skin to survive. People may sit on your resume for up to a year before getting back to you.
Empoyers also put out ads for positions before they need someone. Then hold onto resumes for the future.

Have you thought about becoming your own boss? I don't know what your interests are but I'm a work at home mom with Latasia jewelry. I'd love to share the details with you... Latasia is a fantastic, small, (but growing!) family owned company that has been around for over 15 years, and is a member of the DSA. The jewelry is beautiful, the people are great and the commissions are super! As a Latasia designer, you are your own boss...You work your own hours, and the sky is the limit on how much you can earn. I can even help you get started for free!
My contact info and website address are available on my profile. Please feel free to contact me and I'll be happy to help in any way I can! :)
Good luck!

Find a friend and see if they will roll play as a boss doing hiring for their company. Have them point out what they think is going on or what your body language is telling them. You might want to have your resume reviewed by another person to see if it really is in line. Don't forget to do your follow-up call 1 week after an interview to let them know you thank them for their time and are still interested. Hope this helps.

Make sure you're showing up on time, even early for the interview. That's a big thing employers look for. Also, most of them know in the first minute or two if they're going to hire you. Make sure you're making eye contact, smiling. Be confident; don't say you "think" you're the best person for the job, say you "know" you're the best person for the job and stuff like that.

what job are you taking?
with limited information the answer to your question would be a wild guess, there's a probability that you are trying to get into a job that doesnt fit your resume, or maybe blah blah blah, put additional info for a suitable answer.

Try Western University in London, they have pretty low standards!!!
Have someone else look at your resume and give you feedback, it may not say what you believe it does.
