Do You Begrudge Tony Blair His Success Since Leaving Office...?
With news that Tony Blair is taking on yet another high profile appointment, this time as a climate adviser (despite the fact that he doesn't come from a scientific background), I was wondering if you begrudge the man the success he has had since leaving office?
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/ne...
Tony Blair added to his burgeoning list of international roles last night by announcing that he will join a group of experts on climate change in an attempt to reduce global carbon emissions.
Tony Blair has taken on a number of roles since leaving No 10, including the position of envoy for the Middle East Quartet
The former prime minister said he had the support, crucially, of China and the US in drawing up an action plan to cut emissions by 50 per cent by 2050.
I'm sensing some animosity...

Yes I do. He has left this Country in an unrecognisable state. He allowed the British identity to be eroded over the last 10 years and it's ok for him, he can f**k off out of it and live anywhere he likes, in Luxury. How dare he!
He made a promise to give us a referendum on the EU treaty, and then slipped out the back door knowing Gordon had no intention of it.
He LIED to us about the reasons for going into Iraq. Told us "Iraq could launch WMD' that can reach the UK within 45 minutes".. WHAT A LIAR ! All those Brave Soldiers, poor civilians DEAD because of his lies.
I hope someone assassinates him one day. He deserves it.
He disgusts me and so do the idiots he has left in charge.

This man makes a good proportion of his money from after dinner speeches. What are his speeches about ? The Ethics of Warfare ?? WMDs and How To Find Them ? He must have socio-pathic embedded traits because he thinks a few prayers with his Catholic Church sets the record straight. The Church should have a system for refusing membership - what better recruitment for the church if they barred warmongers such as Blair. I for one am in no way jealous of his riches or anyone else's riches. I would rather have no money and sleep at night than have his wealth and be always watching my back for the realistic possibility of an assassins bullet. I do not wish this upon him but I am not that naive I dont see it as on the agenda of Muslim Fundamentalists. Blair is the most despicable prime minister - Labour Leader and Labour member in history. If he and Thatcher were drowning in a river I would dive in and save Thatcher - and I was a staunch Labour activist member.

He's probably living on borrowed time because of the upset he has caused to so many with his actions over Iraq etc, he must be a top target for assassination so he will never be safe!
I don't call that success!

If I spent my time reflecting on him I probably would begrudge him, but I don't do that, he doesn't have my respect so I ignore him rather than begrugde, I really can't be bothered getting upset about something I can't alter. People with grudges are grumpy and boring.

Talk about " jobs for the boys." Envoy in the middle east ? now that was funny at least a laugh could be squeezed out of his "successful role there Do I begrudge him his " take the money and run " appointments ? of course I do and more fools are the ones who fell for his act whilst he was in office .

he is a scumbag who cannot be believed - begrudge is not the right word - he is clever at making money and self-promotion but overall he is an evil liar

Perhaps it just goes to show that the 'Little Englander' attitude to successful people shows what a small-minded nation we are.
If all these organisations think that he can do a good job, then good luck to him.
I can't think of a better prime minister over the last 40 years.

He's quite obviously getting a leg up from his old bumchum Bush who also wangled the M.E. envoys job for him.

Yes because he is a traitor to his country, his party and his religion, the only person who counts for Tony Blair is his greedy self. He had the best chance that ever there was to do something for his country and he f*cked it up

Yes, I do begrudge him his 'success'. He is only in the position he is in on the back of treading all over us poor saps whilst he was feathering his own nest when he was Prime Minister. Bliar by name, Liar by nature.
