What can I do to make sure my pale blue and white wedding doesn't look "tiffany's"-ish? Any Ideas?!
My wedding colors are pale blue and white and I was meeting with a wedding planner and she was like, "awww a tiffany's themed wedding!".
I really wasn't going for this at all, and I haven't started looking at how to decorate for the reception....but I was curious if you could give me any ideas to make sure I don't continue to get these comments!
have any of you been to a light blue/white wedding that hasn't looked tiffany's-ish? How'd they do it?
i'm really really stressed, so any help would be great!
thanks!

Well, if you kept it a very pale blue I don't think it would looked like Tiffany wedding. When I think of Tiffany I think of aqua blue and cream colors.
But, if you are really trying to avoid people saying it's a Tiffany wedding then what you could do is add an accent color. Brown is a very popular color to go with the blue. It doesn't have to be a TON of brown...just a few here and there. Or you could go with a nice yellow color.
You could do something like this...it would offset the whole Tiffany theme...

When are you getting married? If you are getting married around the winter time you could due an "ice blue" theme. You can add a little silver into the color scheme and it would look beautiful.

I think it's a wonderful idea and whoever is calling her a bridezilla is just being a hater. If you are just friends with someone hypothetically, with no wedding involved, and you invite a few to go to an amusement park with you that YOU WOULD PAY FOR, how is that wrong? But somehow, put that in the context of a wedding, and people start throwing around nasty comments. Honestly, I think people just use the term bridezilla cause it sounds funny. For the most part, I've heard it referred to when it wasn't fitting at all. For example, my MOH offered to address my envelopes for me, there were only 40 (1 per couple, and my mom sent out some, we have invited 100). It took her TWO WEEKS and countless phone calls from me. But when I asked her how the labels are coming along (mind you, I'm already late for sending out my invitations), she accused me of being a bridezilla. It seems that most friends just want to party but not actually do the work or responsibilities that come along with being in the bridal party. I think you are spot on for supporting your friend, and it'll be a wonderful day for all involved! Who ever complains can go to hell, guess they won't get a bridesmaid gift then. Good luck.

If it is in the winter you can go with a snowflake theme. If it is spring/summer you can do a beachy theme. I don't think people will think it looks like tiffanys. Just saying light blue can make someone think it but actually seeing it they won't think it. The tiffany blue is actually more of a greenish aqua color. People are just wrongly using turquoise as this tiffany color.
Stay away from boxes in your color with white bows. Use an accent color like purple or pink. My wedding was periwinkle blue with vibrantly colored flowers. It was before this tiffany blue fad but no one would have thought of it or confused it.

Add chocolate brown. Or a shade of orange...basically any third color. You could also use a theme of stars or shells and keep just the blue and white. Most guests wouldn't even think of Tiffany's simply because most people don't shop there...

If I saw a pale blue and white colors, I wouldn't jump automatically to the tiffany theme. Your planner is jumping to conclusions---your guests won't. So, you need not do anything.

Like others have said, add another HINT of color. Maybe just a few flowers in the bouquet and a small ribbon would do. Subtle color will add a wonder of design!
Our colors are baby blue and silver with some black accent. It's going to be amazing. His favorite color is baby ble (which I love as well) and I picked the silver to go with it.
Good luck!

I went to a pastel blue wedding, but it had pastel pink accents. I didn't think tiffany's at all. So maybe just a small accent color will help? The pink looked really nice.

The only way you can counter this is by going with another theme, like a heaven themed wedding. They sell angel wings for flower girls which are just adorable.

You can add accents of another color. A golden yellow or fuscia (or both) would be good. You can do this with floral arrangements or accents on the cake.
Best of luck!

Here is a site that has more color decorations anywhere I have seen. www.Churchbows.com. They are very good. I always ask them and they give good advice. I use them for all the events I plan. Thanks!
