i put pictures of my wife on flickr without realizing they were public. what are the odds she was recognized?

in many of the pictures, unfortunately, all she has on is her wedding ring and a smile! The account has over 10,000 views.....how nervous should i be?

Update:

Ther pictures are mostly candids of her around the house, but some are of her in her "natural state" nothing triple x rated, but you can clearly see everything god gave her

oh wow, that's a story. have you already marked the pictures as private?

you don't have to be nervous, you can choose to be proud. well unless all of your friends and family and coworkers use flickr, and your account is on their flickr friends list, and they are very conservative and you really care what they say.

actually, unless your account is on someone's (like her mom) friend list, the possibility that someone you know has seen the pictures is very small.

They violated your wife's copyright. You can send them a copy of the copyright law and if you really wanted to pursue it, you could. However, it would likely cost you more in legal fees than you would possibly get in compensation. I also am concerned about their claim that they did not have a way to contact your wife. Surely the newspaper that printed the image had an attribution to your wife and surely it cannot be that hard to contact the newspaper editor or even to do a google search for your wife's name. But, again, the likelihood of you getting any money out of this issue is very small in comparison to the amount of money you would have to spend on legal fees. So since they have taken down the image and agreed to never use it again, then you will have to be satisfied with that. And hopefully these musicians will have learned that you can't use images that are not in the public domain or that you do not have express permission to use.

very little chance, 10,000 on the internet isn't very much, unless all your friends have flickr and look for peoples mistakes online or can't find any boyfriends/girlfriends.

also the chance of one of your friends/ wifes friends finds the photo is very very very slim

P.s. make sure your wife doesn't know

Well it wasn't smart putting them on there in the first place....but I'd say it's a 50/50 chance....and it would be good to delete them
