What is that in the sky next to the moon?

Question

Looked at the moon just now while it's still daylight.  I see a bright object next to it.  At first I thought that it was a plane, but after looking at it for about a minute, it didn't even move.  Anyone else see the same thing?  
I'm close to the west coast of the U.S. if that helps.

I see the moon, but I don't see anything bright next to it.  Is it still there?
