Is 97 pounds underweight for a 5'0 15 year old female? I want to hear honest opinions plz.?
Well, I'm 5'0 and 97 pounds. I seem underweight compared to teens at my school but according to your website I am normal. I don't feel normal I feel underweight because my sister is 13 years old and she is like exactly my size and height. She is 96 pounds. When people see us they think we are twins. Not because of our looks but because we have like the exact same body. It really sucks not to be able to feel like your older. She also started her period before me. Well not literally before me but at a younger age than I did. I just wanted to know what advice would you give me to gain weight or accept myself for who I am. Doesn't matter I just want to here someone advice.
you can contact me at carapink2010@yahoo.com if you would like to leave me a piece of advice. THANKS ALOT!!
Know that your advice will be highly appreciated!!!!

Try not to worry so much, i think your weight sounds fine.
I'm 15, 5"3 and i weigh 86lbs and belive me THAT is what you call underweight, but it's due to no fault of my own, it's just genetics and there's nothing i can do or say to change the way i was built.
I often try pigging out more than usual but that just gives me an upset tummy or acid reflux.
I eat like a regular human being if not more, yet because i am underweight people do not treat me like i am a regular human and it saddens me. I wish i was curvier sometimes, but i'm learning to deal with it, if people can't accept me for who i am that is their problem and ignorance, insecurities and whatnot, not mine!
Just be happy and stop comparing yourself to your sister, you are find and i'd say as long as you stick to a healthy diet and excersise you'll continue to be fine!

you seem pretty normal. your sister, in starting her period when younger than you will probably quit growing at an earlier age. Something to do with the body cartilage reacting to the hormones. I know kids that didn't really start to grow until they were 13 or 14, I know kids that were almost full height at 14. There is no telling which category you fit into.
you may talk to a school counselor if you feel you may need mental health assistance for self-esteem.

Your weight is fine! At 5', you should weight 100 lbs, +/- 5 lbs (maybe +/- 10 lbs in this country!). Every inch above 5', add 5 lbs. So between 95-105 lbs for you. Most celebrities are 10 lbs under ideal. For guys, it's 106 lbs at 5' (+/- 6 lbs), add 6 lbs for every inch above 5'. Make sense? :)

You're fine. You'll prob gain a little weight in the next 5 years. However even if you don't, you're fine!

You are not underweight. You're in the middle of your healthy weight range so I would not worry about it at all.

Because you 5'0 it's perfectly normal to be 97lbs. I'm like 5'2, and i weigh about 95lbs. So it's perfectly healthy...no need to worry. =]
