Once your hormones go back down to a negative level, then your normal period should resume within 4-12 weeks post-termination. Every situation varies with the individual patient, their activity levels and number of previous pregnancies.

Having intercourse at this time may have prompted the beginning of your cycle. If you did not start birth control before this time, you need to speak to your Nurse Practitioner as to when a good time will be.

Using condoms alone may not be the best idea for a birth control choice. They are only about 85% effective. The clinic should have discussed a method of hormonal contraception for you as well. If you do not want to do hormones, try the Today Sponge.

The Mifeprex Medication Guide may tell you some of this; however, I am sure that the Clinic that you were seen at gave you post procedural information that can tell you the same thing.

Getting started on birth control (pill, patch, ring) may put you in to a "normal" cycle with the systmatic addition and withdrawal of estrogen/progestin; however, you must take it consistently. Miss pills and you run the risk of getting pregnant again. (Miss a pill by 15 minutes you can have break through bleeding, miss a pill by as much as 4 hours and you can ovulate.)

THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION FOR YOU, THE PATIENT:

DID YOU RETURN FOR YOUR POST-PROCEDURAL EXAM??

If you were seen and the exam results were within normal limits, and the uterus was empty, it will soon be time for an Annual exam with pap.

Above all, any more questions? Call the Clinic that you were seen at. They should still answer all of your questions since they were the facility to see you for the process.

It may in fact be your period, but your next period may come earlier or later than you would normally expect.

Although I've not had one, my friend has, and her period returned within 3 weeks, and was fairly regular there after. You've probably heard it mutliple times, but it simply depends on your body, hormones, etc, and your experience will vary from others.
