Why always on my shift??

The natural disasters are aways on my shift. It barely rains in downtown Atlanta, let alone this! (tornado!)...

mass chaos + 911 = unhappy me.

Update:

BTW, I mentioned nothing about being uninterested, I'm just naturally TIRED after getting my @$$ kicked...

I use to find myself asking the same question after a week of severe weather that seemed to hit every time on my shift. You end up staying on overtime on a "severe weather diet"...no time to eat all day because you are so busy on shift. You go home after a 12 to 18 hour long shift tired, hungry, and wide awake. Then it takes forever to wind down so you end up getting little sleep. Your mind would replay the event over and over again before you finally fall asleep. Only to wake up to another day of potential severe weather again...or what I then called the "Why Me and Why Now???" shifts.

You are there for a reason. You have helped many in Atlanta last evening. You may even saved some lives by being on shift. You were busy because you were needed. So hang in there!!!

lol, I feel for you. I worked as a switchboard operator at our military base when we had a storm system with some tornados -- we only get them like once every 15 or 20 years or so -- and the phones were ringing off the hook. Fortunately, I've lived places where there WERE tornados, so I had answers for the frightened callers.

my friend, its CALLING, it's you purpose in life to be in such situations. Maybe you are destined to handle such things, better than other people. Poise and Beauty even under pressure.

It makes it seem so much scarier, when everything is dark and supposed to be quiet.
