I watch black&white films all the time and those who dismiss them as,"old-fashioned" or"out-of-date" don;t know what they're missing. There are loads of classic films that were made in black&white during the 30's(before color proscessing was available) and through the war years(when film stock was at a premium). People don't realize that black&white filming is an actual process that involves lighting,make-up costume and set design that would look ghatly in color. So you see,children,duo-tone films aren't just films with the abscence of color. They are to be taken(and hopefully appreciated)on their own terms.Oh! The last one I watched was<"All About Eve" with Bette Davis at her absolute best. It was on TCM.I suggest you check it out.

The original Hairspray (I hate the fluffy new one), it has a lot of segregation issues. Befor that it would be Crash, about everyday race relations. And Dogma - the 13th apostle, Rufus, was black and therefore ommitted from the bible - very cool film. *edit* whoever gave me a thumbs down. I'm not saying that Dogma was cool because the Bible omitted Rufus for being black. Rufus in the movie is a very cool character who is p!ssed off and he is played by Chris Rock. It is a very anti-religious film. Geez. I answered the question honestly, these are the most recent films I have seen regarding racist issues. I've seen all the moves mentioned by the question asker but not recently. Far out.

Funny you should ask that question. I am an avid movie fan and remember reading a book called : "The Prince of Foxes" and I enjoyed it very much. Last week, I watched the black and white movie version with Orson Wells. Enjoyed it a lot.

My daughters and I watched Arsenic & Old Lace, just 2 days ago. For the last two days they haven't been able to go up the stairs with out a "Charge".

    Thank you for asking.

    I believe idea-level films--dramas and

satires ought to be in B/W.

The last I saw in black and white was

    "The Ghost ad Mrs. Muir".
