Why did Paul McCartney and Heather Mills not have a pre-nup?
Guys, if you had £800 odd million would you not think a pre-nup agreement was essential??

I'd say he wishes he had one now. Big oversight. But, he probably believed in love without realizing she is a gold-digger. He never got over Linda's death, and was thinking with his heart not his head. I sympathize with him even though I don't have the vast fortune. I went through something similar, got burned, and had to learn a hard lesson. Now, so has he.

If Paul made a new album for this purpose I think he should really find a tranquill place in the world and get some time to relax and think about what the fans really want. As a fan, I want some songs that are reminiscent of the beatles, some songs that are like his early 80s stuff (Take It Away), something melancholy like "No More Lonely Nights", and then a true rock and roll epic, something like "Stairway to Heaven" but it's Paul McCartney. Oh could you imagine if the Led Zeppelin guitarist played on one of Paul's songs? Also Paul should do a duet with Bono.

Isn't it extraordinary that with his background he could have been so naive. Frankly, if I had £800 million I don't think I'd care too much about the money itself, but if I was him I wouldn't feel over the moon that it was her that got it. I'd have thought a pre-nup is par for the course.

Because he's a fool is why. Saying that having a pre-nup is not romantic is downright rubbish its just commonsence financial prudence. Work out a package, sign on the dotted line and bob's your unkle. Being fleeced is not romantic either!!!!! Why oh why didn't he see this coming??? She's nothing more than a screeching nutcase!!!

This is a valuable lesson to anyone with assets.
Both parties should be able to sign a statement of separate assets so that if they divorce without children they can keep their own respective assets and if they have children - only the children's financial needs taken into account on a proportionate basis (i.e. each side pays their fair share).
No wonder guys are reluctant to marry when they get taken to the cleaners routinely.
But in this case I believe the settlement is fair as she has security issues. Yes she is nuts and attracts a lot of attention herself but it was quite obvious to any right minded person - she looked hysterical from the start. He cannot complain she turned into someone highly strung - she was right from the get go

Pre-nups aren't recognised by the UK courts, but to be honest I don't think he would have got one anyway. I seem to remember him saying something like they're "not very romantic" at the time they got married, which is true but not a very practical attitude when you're a multi-millionaire!

Paul was married to Linda for years and was so happy with her. He was devastated when she died and just couldn't get over it. Then along comes a younger version of Linda, same facial looks, same blonde straight hairstyle. Someone who took over some of Linda's charities, championed animal rights just like Linda did and promoted vegetarianism just like Linda did. Heather did her job well and reeled him in hook line and sinker.
Yes, Paul was a romantic and part of him must have thought he was so lucky to have a second chance of happiness with someone who was so much like Linda. He was on the rebound, but he thought he was in love, and Heather obviously persuaded him that she loved him so he trusted her.
Heather was out to bag a rich husband for a couple of years then live off the proceeds. She was cold, calculating and had it well planned. She saw her golden opportunity and took it. She certainly played her part well.

Paul was asked before he married Heather if they had a pre-nup and he said no that it wasnt very romantic. He loved her and thought it would be like being married to Linda.

Maybe this is why.
In Britain the pre-nup means very little. It isn't enforceable by law and it can't even be guaranteed that it will even be looked at by the court in legal proceedings.

I wish people wouldn't be so mean about Paul McCartney. He married for love many years ago and had a long and successful marriage. He probably thought that most women were like Linda and that he had found love again. He was in a vulnerable state after having lost his wife of many years and she appears to me to be an unpleasant and gold digging sort of woman. He has behaved with dignity throughout, whilst she has made a public exhibition of herself.
