Are there any beaches in Sonora, California?
i need to know... i am goin out there for vacation...... and if there arent, where are the closest ones??
well fyi obviousman.. i live in pennsylvania and have no time to look at a map

If you go to maps.google.com, and type in "Sonora, CA" you will see just how far you are from the beach. And most people I've met in Sonora (they're more of a country/mountain person-type mentality) don't care about the beach.

There are lakes with beaches that you can swim in. One of the mountain lakes with a nice beach is called Pinecrest Lake. If you are staying in Twain Harte (near Sonora) there is a lake there, too, with a snack bar. I'm sure there are swimming holes on rivers but you'd have to get to know some locals for that.

No, but there are pools, if you want to swim. Sonora is more than 100 miles from the ocean.
