New York City residents...?

I'm going there around the first of April. I know you hate tourists (as do I, being a Myrtle Beach resident) but I'd love to know what the weather is like before I pack the wrong clothes. Can you please help me?

p.s. I will be outside for most of my visit

My friend, the first week in April is a bit chill so carry a light coat. Also make sure to take an umbella with you as it always rain in New York City in April. And when you're in NYC, or before you leave for NYC, check the latest weather forecast from the Weather Channel or weather.com. I've included a link to weather.com for you convinence.

    Good luck and happy travels.

Why you said native newyorkers hate tourists, when they are walking slowly with camera, I understand , I am a tourist, french woman, always when I need help or if I have a question in the subway, on the streets, a newyorker answers friendly, with a large smile.

April is generally sunny, with showers, bring a trenchcoat, sweat, an umbrella, and comfortables shoes, there are many clothes's shops, Canal Street, Century21, if you feel cold it's the best occasion, remember, in NYC, the best way to visit is walking, I wish you a good trip in NYC.

Who said we hate tourists? I personally love them. They love this place, and they drive our economy. If you have a question out on the streets, go ahead and ask a native, they'll likely be happy to help you out. People usually leave here completely bewildered by how nice natives here are to tourists.

Anyway, early-April weather is a wildcard here in New York, it can vary greatly. Bring enough to dress warmly; we can still be nailed with temperatures in the 30s and 40s. However, we can get a "heat wave" in the 60s or 70s.

Again, be prepared to keep yourself warm if necessary. You can't go wrong with that. After all, it's much easier to take stuff off if it's too warm, than it is to put stuff on if you don't have anything when it's too cold.

    Enjoy your visit!

I favor you a reliable vacation in States.

The weather GREATLY varies in NYC during April, I would suggest going to weather.com a week before you're ready to leave. You can plug in where you're leaving from, when you'll be in the city, and when you'll be going home and it will give you not only the projected weather, but also what you'll need to pack! I love using it for my trips across the country! :)

The first week of April may still be a bit nippy, but on the average, it will be around 50 - 60 degrees then.
