Take a warm bucket of water, and use a sponge......Dip the sponge in the warm water, wring out most, not all of the water and ......(1)...If you can, try picking a piece of the wall paper off in the corner or at the top...........Now once you have some off, and taking the warm sponge to it now will allow the water to penetrate the rest of the wallpaper and you will be able to use a scraper and start scraping the wallpaper off.
Once it gets started it comes off easier.
Just dampen an area again, go over it two or three times, then start scraping it downward................good luck

Go to Home Depot and get "diff" a wall paper remover, it works beautifully.
Get some plastic gloves, a sponge mop and a bucket. Put plastic down and get some large garbage bags. Boil one gallon of water as per instructions, using the sponge mop coat the paper all over, going around the room. Go around the room a second time. Take a short break. Now go back and do it once again. The paper should now start falling off by itself.
Put it in the bags, if it sticks to the floor it's hard to get off. If there's glue still on the wall, rub it off with the liquid and the sponge mop.

Forget the chemical removers. there are two great and inexpensive ways to remove wall paper. remember to score the walls first. (cut lines through the paper - you can use a utility knife).
Mix 1 part very hot water with 1 part white vinegar OR
Mix 1 cup liquid fabric softener with 1 gallon water.
You can apply either mixture with a spray bottle, a paint roller, a sponge, or an old balled up sock.
Allow the mixture the seep in, then scrape the paper to remove. I find vinegar works best for very old (think antique) paper, fabric softener for rest.

Mom just above here has a pretty good answer.
Just remember that there are two types of wall paper.
The paper kind and the vinyl covered kind.If you have vinyl, you"ll have to peel off the vinyl before the water will have effect.
You can easily peel it off by starting on an edge.It comes off fairly easily, once that is done you can use the water.

We sprayed water on the wallpaper then ironed it. It loosened the glue and the wallpaper was able to be ripped off section by section. Very easy!!! I did it at 8 months pregnate.

They make a tool that you can roll over old wall paper that leaves tiny holes to allow either steam or chemicals to help dissolve the glue, but its still hard work.

There is no easy way, it's all a lot of work.
You can try a steam remover that you rent or use a chemical paste dissolver which is very expensive. Ask at the home depot or local hardware store.

A steamer works great and you;ll need to buy a product called TSP to remove the glue residue left on the walls.

My mom always puts vinegar and warm water in a spray bottle. It is so simple!!! just soak your wall paper and start scraping!!!! I remember doing this as a child with my mom!:)
