what kind of material do they use on lane recliners?
I have had one for 20 years and it looks great. I want to recover my couch in the same stuff. What is it?

I have a reclining wingback Lane and it is leather with naugahide. When I bought it, you had the choice of literally thousands of fabrics and many leather grades. Unfortunately, manufacturers discontinue their fabrics almost as frequently as styles change. You may be able to match it with similar fiber content though in a different pattern. Take a cutting of fabric from an inconspicous place, like underneath or in a seam. Take that swatch to the upholsterer for analysis and they can direct you to that fiber content and type of fabric. I suspect if it was long wearing and as durable as you describe, it was probably in the chenille family. You could also head into a Lane distributor/store and take a look at the wall o'fabric to see if they are still using similar upholstery fabrics.
