The Form 1099R?

Is there any way to change the code on a 1099R form while doing your taxes?

    If the code is wrong, ask the issuer to reissue a corrected form.

    If it is wrong, ask the issuer to change it.

    They may still say "No". Some trustees have said that they are only going to code distributions as "1" if you are under 59 1/2.

    If it was coded as a "1" and you qualify for an exception, see from 5329.
