What a wonderful time I am sure you will have! But wow what an undertaking! I think puting together some small vinyettes and displays of the time periods will be a lot of fun. Especially if you have items from ech character.

There are anumber of things you can do and so many ideas out ther for displays and activities for children. I would suggest starting at looking into the "Looking Back" sections in the books. Short Stories hav a number of inexpensi activities you can do. Also, contact your local retailer and see if they have an AG Book club. Ask them if you can help promote their stores and use ideas fromt heir club kits.

Collectors grous like the one at AGPlaythings have many resources for adults that want to plan club activities and events such as these with children. Some of our members have typed up activities and ideas from old magazines into the "Library" in the users forum.

I would try having the dolls positioned doing different activities that you see in the stories. For example: some of the Felicity stories address the need for learning to sew. Another one would be Samantha and her school work or Kit and her newspaper. Things like that or things from that specific time period.

Once upon a time the American Girl company had games and things like that. I don't know if they still do, but that might be fun for the children to play.

If you are thinking of another activity for the kids, having them make up their own newspaper article would be neat.
