How do I stop a neighbor's dog from defecating on my property?

In front of my house, there are bricks laid on both sides of the walkway with cut-out holes for plants (like a plant box, but flush with the bricks). I keep finding dog crap in the boxes. What can i do to keep dogs from defecating there? Is there a natural remedy that will not harm the dogs or soil?

A paintball gun is the most fun option, depending on the size of the dog.

Seriously though, there are deterrents that you can use to keep dogs/cats/wild animals off of your property. You can get them at any pet store, maybe even a feed store.

Or, tell you neighbor to keep her dog in a fence. Novel concept. If she doesn't agree, catch and take him to the shelter.

I aggree with the others that say just throw the bricks at it. you should not have to build a fence, or buy the stuff, this is ur neighbors problem. they should respect you and your property enough to not let their dog crap on your yard. Heck why not go and take a dump on their lawn and see how they like it. Just make sure you watch for flying bricks!!!!

Your problem is you keep finding dog poo on your property and you don't know what dog is leaving it. If it is a dog that runs loose, you can't do anything. But you can leave out little bags for people to use to clean up after their dog with a small sign and even a bin to toss the dog poo into after they have cleaned up. In other words, leave out supplies for others to clean up after the dog. If it means that much to you, you have to do whatever it takes. I applaud you for not wanting to hurt the dog. Good for you! You are a class act for that.

Well, you should buy that stuff, can't remember what's it called, at the pet store that deters animals from coming in your yard. I think it's granules. If you KNOW for sure which neighbor's dog it is, scoop it up and toss it on their porch. I'm sorry, my neighbor would have a stroke if one of my large dogs got loose yet they have a huge lab that sits in my yard and barks at ME every stinking morning, when I'm taking my havanese out for her potty!

Try fencing. Dogs shouldn't be left to run everywhere outside.

Its this stuff you buy at a pet store. U put it on your grass and it makes the dogs butt itch, so problem solved.

You can try spraying Bitter Apple or another animal deterrent on your lawn. You'll have to do this daily, but it usually helps.
