Well, let me tell you what happens when patients stop taking their medicines...
diabetic ketoacidosis
uncontrolled type II diabetes - blindness, neuropathy, renal failure
congestive heart failure
high blood pressure leading to heart attacks and strokes
hypothyroidism
gastroesophageal reflux and gastritis
seizures
and much, much more.
BTW, physicians do not make any money off of the prescriptions they write. Pharmaceutical companies do.
Medications taken improperly ARE poisons. That's why we train until we're in our 30's before we are allowed to prescribe them.
