Permanent color over highlights?
Would this be ok? I want to have one color all over again and then rehighlight. Will my highlights show through?

your highlights will show through, bu very subtle. It is actually a very nice look. I dye my hair and do a highlight every other time, to get different shades of red.

if you used bleach to achieve your highlights, then I suggest you get the all-over colour done professionally, cause they need to tone it otherwise the highlights could go green lol! When you get an all-over colour, there might be a *slight* difference in the colour of where the highlights are, and you will have to keep colouring over them, cause as the colour fades they will be more noticable....but if you have new highlights done over the top, they will probably be less noticable as well...I would just advise you to keep colouring over the previous highlights.
If your unhappy with the colour of your current highlights, maybe you could consider having them toned a different colour instead of going through this whole process? lol.....speak to a professional....hope this helps, good luck :)

only use the temporalily ones. There probaly greater ideal for highlights anyhow via fact as quickly as ur hair starts to improve and you have roots it could be complicated to maintain redo-ing only ur highlights. this variety you are able to only redye it after some months or how ever long you like them for.

Depending on what colors the hilights are. If the hilights are blonde, they will show through. They may not show true right away, but once the color fades a little you'll see your hilights. But if your going to get your hair re-hilighted, then you'll be okay. They wont show through enough to screw up the new hilights.
