ADOBE CS3 on macbook. how important are the presets folders?
here's the thing;
i moved all my adobe software (which came in an adobe suite) to an adobe folder in the applications folder instead of being around other application icons.
it's been a pain ever since, some programs like photoshop keep nagging about how "the application has moved" then opens up later on, while other ran normally like Illustrator.
after having enough of it, returned all the adobe stuff back to the applications folder. then the everythign switched, stuff like PS worked normally while others like illustrator didn't.
i heard i can delete the "presets" folder to clear this up, but i wasn't sure which one/where was it. just how important are the presets anyway? i chekced one, and they seemed to hold valuable data.
finally; i do not feel like reinstalling the whole thing.

DO NOT delete the Presets folder, it contains a lot of things Photoshop uses. Instead, look for the Preferences folder and delete the appropriate Preferences. What that will do is when you then restart the program, it will reset preferences back to how they were when you first loaded the program.
Presets contain important items like your Brushes, Textures. some of your Tools, Color Swatches and Color books to name just some of the things in the Presets folder.
You may have do a Find to locate the Preferences folder and files, but DO NOT delete Presets.

Delete the Presets folder and give this program a final kiss goodbye. To install programs and then start moving folders around at will is a dumb thing to do. If you want operating from some place other than the Program files, remove it and reinstall specifing another location.
