H2 is a gas. However, when it makes contact with fire, it creates a popping sound and the fire distinguishes. What exactly happened during that reaction?

When ignited the Hydrogen burns in the oxygen in the atmosphere and forms water. The popping noise occurs because it is confined in a test tube. The volume of gas shrinks to almost nothing on burning as the water condenses, and the partial vacuum draws air into the tube. The speed of this collapse and rush of air is what creates the pop.

sumthin to do with the atom of hydrogen and the electrons... when the electrons contact heat they r more attracted to the heat and distach from the nucleas - it's all so quick so it makes a popping sound from the explosion - that's sounds logical
