French film, made pre-1985, with multiple endings ?

I saw the film years ago, can't recall the title, director, or much of the plot. It was centred around a married couple, they were preparing for some friends coming to visit, the scenes were shown out of order and with several different endings mixed in (e.g. in one ending the group are strolling happily along a tree-lined road, in another terrorists burst into the house and shoot them). Can anyone name it?
