SURVEY: How do you feel about Barack Obama's speech last night?

I didn't get to watch it last night, myself and the kids have been sick with fevers, but I would not be surprised that it was excellent. Barack Obama, really is a great speaker, he really does know how to speak to the public, he can get himself in or out of any situation, he's really intelligent. I personally think that is a great quality in a future president, is to know how to talk to people, this way maybe we can talk things out and come to agreements with other countries, instead of pulling a "BUSH" and going straight to other peoples country and start blowing them up, when we had no business to be in there in the first place.

I really wish I would have seen it last night, maybe I can find it here on the internet.

EDIT: I just read a few responses that people had left about his speech last night and it seems that some are unhappy about his choice in religion.

I want to say "COME ON PEOPLE, WAKE UP, AREN'T WE LIVING IN AMERICA!?, WHERE WE HAVE THE RIGHT AND FREEDOM TO OUR OWN BELIEFS AND RELIGION, WHAT THE HECK DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING? THAT IS HIS OWN FREE WILL PERSONAL CHOICE. OR WOULD SOME PEOPLE LIKE AMERICA TO TURN INTO COMMUNISM, WHERE WE WILL NOT HAVE A RIGHT TO PRACTICE WHATEVER RELIGION WE MAY BELIEVE. WHO ARE WE TO JUDGE, REMEMBER THERE IS ONLY ONE TRUE JUDGE THAT WILL BE DOING THE JUDGING IN THE END, NOT ANY OF US."

Totally predictable. Obama was anointed candidate by the press quite a while ago. One can't really blame him for arrogance since the system seems geared to turn marginal front-runners into overwhelming favorites and, then, winners. What I am wondering is why there ever was a system of so-called super delegates created if they are expected to fall into line like good army privates behind the so-called will of the people, i.e. that Obama has piled up a "stunning" 2 or 3 % margin in all these primaries. This is exactly the kind of neck and neck and race where the "superdelegates' should be exercising their independent reasoning - the supposed wisdom that got them superdelegate status - rather than acting like a stampeding herd of buffaloes. This wouldn't and shouldn't necessarily mean that they should support Hillary but they ought to pause and reflect rather than just follow the crowd, especially when that crowd has NOT given Obama a very impressive lead at all.

Race is a difficult issue in America and there are 275 Million stories to tell& they are all valid.

You have to walk a mile in someone elses shoes to begin to see their context. In actuality there are very few absolutes in life. We want things of others we don't impose on our selves. Most of us are not all 'this or that' we are in the middle.

I know that if I ever sought political office most of the Pastor's I listen to have very strong opinions on Race and by just sitting in the pews I won't be able to get elected?

Should I stand-up and tell the Pastor to Hush? Obama was one of probably hundreds if not thousands in the sanctuary should he have stood up & said "Tone that down ... I might run for President one day"?

Last Note ... If you are going to build unity you have to be able to work with all people ... the crazy "Uncle" types too. But if you throw them under the bus ... they get mad & want to come after you. We all dislike/Hate & Love at the same time. come on .... let's be real.

I think he was wise to distance himself from the views of his religious leader while still holding admiration of the man. This whole issue has put me off balance. I now wonder if there is a dual dialog going on in the church everyone attends....what we say and what we believe. They should be the same thing and a church is not an acceptable place in my eyes to say what you wouldn't say to a persons face outside those walls.

In all fairness, I only caught the news highlights of his speech, but it seems he handled pretty well. I have people with whom I am very close, and who mean a great deal to me, who's opinions are very far removed from my own on several issues. My relationship with them is much bigger than any difference of opinion, no matter how passionately held. We just agree to disagree.

I always go over to the Elections board and rant, and I just don't want to get started right now. Not an Obama fan, no matter what he says. Speech was good, but I do not support him in any way. The end.

I'm from Pennsylvania and here the only people running for president is Hillary and John. Of course, Dems outnumber Repubs 3 to 1.

Even though he is surrounded in controversy I beleive that he would be good for our country.

We shouldn't judge on race or gender it should be who gets the job done. People try to bring him down but I say he's probably who I'd vote for.

I didn't see his speech & I'm not American... All I can say about Obama is; I pray he keeps his promises of 'hope & change'... If not, he'll feel the full brunt of the American people... Just like what Bush is experiencing now...

I heard the whole speech. His delivery was perfect. It was a very good, but not great speech. He certainly is the best candidate in the race for the White house.
