Why is yahoo answers sending violation notices for things that are not listed in their guidelines?

I recently received a violation notice and went through the yahoo answers' guidelines again and I know I did not violate any of their guidelines. After this I e-mail them requesting to explain to me which one of their guide lines I supposedily violated. However, they are never able to provide me with the a clear answer to my quetion of why they think I violated their guidelines. Do you think that they violate their own rules? I think so... and if I supposedly did something wrong how can I do it right next time if they do not tell me what I am doing wrong?

Update:

The questions I ask are questions that I cannot ask anybody in person because everyone in my family is straight and they do no know the answers to these questions. Therefore I need the answers and opinion of gay guys.

It isn't uncommon to get a violation notice without actually violating anything.

In addition to responding to the Violation Notice Email, you should also send an Appeal Form.

that means you have the right to appeal if your questions or answers is not against the yahoo answers guidelines it can be someone who trying to gain points or they dont like your answers or they just wanna start trouble but if you think its a problem um its possible they can send you a email when you try to appeal and they will tell you why its against the community rules or that its not a violation they will tell you

Source(s): i see why now that i looked at your questions it can mean that they are very innapropriate i have had that happen before but thier are people who are younger then 18 who uses yahoo services and they want to keep thier site clean i think alot has to do with how you ask your questions and rephrase them im guessing you are still young searching for answers well maybe you can talk to someone you know that is open about conversations because i come from a open family where we talk about anything with eachother to learn about stuff every person needs to learn to become more aware of whats in the world and how to say things and when the good time is

I thought the same thing but then realised I was using my question as a discussion thread using edits and stuff which was a violation.

The other violation I had was entitled "drunk and horny" which I created when I was drunk and horny funnily enough.

The other one was a joke envolving an old man and a car accident. I suppose that was a bit distasteful.

Can't say there were any others I questioned. :0/.

If more than one person reports and answer, you will in all likelihood get a violation notice. It's all automated at that first stage. If you respond using the response form, you will get another form email back.

There are trolls who make it a sport to report anyone they disagree with. Apparently they either have multiple IDs or friends they team up with.

    Tiresome.

    I don't know why tbh.

Do you think that they violate their own rules? They must do... never thought about it before.

I supposedly did something wrong how can I do it right next time if they do not tell me what I am doing wrong? Exactly! You can't.

My advice: Next time you get violated, send them a rude and stroppy email asking them EXACTLY WHY you received a violation notice.

Keep on doing this until they explain why you violated a rule EVERY TIME you get given a notice

there are haters that will report ALL of your answers, even the ones that are resolved...

If you are gay, or even gay friendly, they will report you, go to their other accounts and start the process all over again.

Yahoo doesn't really look very closely at the content, they just go by how many people found objection to your answer....

that is why i make my questions and answers private

    to everyone but my contacts...

yahoo has a phrase in the tos that you agreed to that says that they can delete any material for any reason., you agreed to it. when you clicked on the " I accept " button. I know someone who got their account deleted for writing a satirical spoof on being trangendered , claiming to be a " transduck " It wasn't in vilation of the TOS of the community guidelines but they deleted her for " pretending to be nonhuman" which is definitely NOT in the community guidelines.

They never give me a reason either. I have tried to appeal and they would reject it and still no reason so i don't want to post questions anymore
