Usually food taste better when someone else makes it due to your relationship, for example if it's a loved one or a close friend you tend to adore something that they do for you than what you do for yourself. When your out in a cafe or restaurant eating specially made meals, it taste better because you 'know' that a 'professional' cooked your meal and that gives you a taste of 'hungriness'. So it's sort of a connection your stomach has with your brain, the brain sends your stomach a message on which food will taste better, your own, your companions or a chiefs, that's why you lose interest in food that you made because your brain tells you 'meh it won't taste good because YOU made it' making us lose appetite altogether.

Cheese makes me heave the smell the taste

The nasty snack food called buggles. i ate one when i was little and some articicial spice that i tasted was so awful, I threw up on my mother. I tried them a few years ago to see if my taste changed, and I had the same reaction.
