Don't hold it against me, but I am an Intel fan right now...

But to your problem, or solution I should say heh.

Decent CPU, though I would jump at the Phenom 9600 if you have the cash to spend.

Heartily approve of the graphics card. EVGA is great.

You really don't need a heatsink, but if you really want one, cool.

Why a 700w PSU? 500w would be more than enough to suit your needs. Which leads me to the case, to save yourself some money, the Raidmax Smilidon case is very nice, 500w PSU, and has a very nice design for system builders, especially first timers.

I am a fan of Patriot for RAM. You can pick up 2x2gig Vipers for less than $100.

3 seperate hard drives. I can't quite figure this one out. I would honestly go with Western Digital. Never had one fail me yet. 500gig SATA 3gig/s would run you about $100 or $150 for 750 gigs.

Asus makes a nice Litescribe DVD burner (you need 2?)

I wouldn't do Vista Ultimate unless you had some business applications to perform or needed added file security. Home Premium does the job and well, and you can get the 64 bit (I know you said 32 but why not open up the full 4gig of RAM) for $100 OEM (price reduction).

The monitor looks good. Make sure it has at least a 5 m/s refresh on it, it you plan to game.

Sorry if this mostly sounds negative, it isn't intended to be.

Mostly what worries me is the 3 Hard drives and the 700w PSU. Even if you SLI your 8800gt's you aren't going to need that much power.

Good luck on your new rig though!

Sounds like a really nice build. If I were you, the only thing I'd change is the OS. I'd rather run XP Pro than Vista. People hate how Vista hogs up most of you computers resources.

I'm not too sure about the NZXT Apollo case. Make sure the case provides plenty of cool air for the 8800GT graphics card (they run real hot)

Excellent choice going with the AMD 6400. I myself, like you, an AMD fan. Since this is your first build....TAKE YOUR TIME. I'm assuming you've done a lot of research before you start putting it together. I think the only hard part of building a machine is installing the OS and configuring windows. Also try to organize your wiring / cabling to allow good air flow. You don't want a cluttered, messy case.

Once you're done and your case is nice and tidy...take a few pictures of it, post it on EVGA Mod Rigs, and show it off.

Asus makes good boards, so no worries there.

I usually use the AMD chips as well, some people say they get hotter than the Intel chips, but I have never had any problem with them.

Not sure on G Skill RAM, might want to go with a more well known brand like OCZ, Kingston, or Crucial.

Why 3 hard drives? Why is one so much smaller than the other two?

Lite-On makes good drives, set there.

I have little experience with Vista, although Home Premium drove me crazy setting it up for a friend. Ultimate should give you the control that you want though, so I wouldn't worry there.

No sound card or did you just forget to list one?

    The Samsung screen is fine.

Overall, I would say a very nice computer.

I've heard of problems with people

    installing 4GB+ onto 32-bit OS's.

I wouldn't buy Vista Ultimate unless

your going to make use of all the

    buisness features it has.
