Suntan Lotion?

I heard on The Today Show that you should not use the suntan lotion from last year because it's lost it's effectiveness. Does anyone know if this is really true?

If so, I think companies should package in smaller tubes so we aren't having to discard half used bottles of lotion into the landfills.

Unfortunately the ingredients in the lotion degrade in time, mainly through expoure to oxigen but also because of time itself. Sorry, but you need a new lotion every year. Take care of your skin, it´s the only one you got. :-)

hmm, good question i'm honestly not sure. i've heard the same thing but i've always used sunscreen from the year before and its worked fine. what you should do is look on the bottle to see the date. if the date is still good then its affectiveness should still be good. but if its sunscreen that you had from 4 or 5 years ago i would suggest throwing it away and by some new.

Don't trust that. Use your lotion.
