any NYS vehicle inspectors been fined for mistakes on an inspection?
one of my co-workers had the misfortune of inspecting a "sting" car from dmv and has now been summoned to court for a hearing on the mistakes he made, I am curious how much the fines are currently running people being as I can't find a documented fine schedule through dmv?

My husband's fine (got about a year ago was $450). The owner of the inspection station can expect to get a higher fine.
My husband failed the sting car, but he didn't give the person a rejection notice (which you have to do). They said even though he failed him and performed the inspection correctly, since he didn't give the rejection, he broke the law and that's why he was fined.
