Why am I so tired?

I work 5 days a week 8 hours a day. I go to the gym three days a week for a one hour workout. I am just burned out. I am 55 and have two teenage boys and I also sleep about 6 hours a night I wish I could sleep more but it just never comes.

You need to try and get to bed by 9pm at night and try and get a few more hours sleep.

Also make sure your eating enough protein. Not enough protein can make you more tired and not sleep enough.

I'd also consult your doctor and talk about this.

  • You are doing everything to exert your body so that you get good sleep. but you have restricted hours of sleep to 6. you may not be aware that each one have differnt needs of sleep hours as one has different needs for food.

Secondly you may be putting your waking hours too much reading, watching TV

If the mind is overstimulated at the sleeping time, you will end up waking till moring comes.

You can take the hot water bath before sleep, this will give you sound sleep, Also avoid stimulating beverages during the day and at night time.

However review your waking hours how you spend them and restruture.

other things are fine with you.

U and a million other awesome moms out there.

Its not easy - but you sound like you are doing your best.

everyone needs a time out from doing their best to refuel.

can you get your kids to help more around the house (cooking or easy prepared meals - laundry)?

flex hours at work or take a day or two off when no one is home? if you have a significant other ask for a nice long massage or if possible pay a pro. Please don't wait to take care of yourself - you are too important to those kids. Tell them how you feel and need some extra TLC. Hang in there and try to fit in what you really enjoy. U have my admiration.

MINIMUM amount of sleep you should get is 8 hours, preferably you should have about 9 1/2 hours of sleep a night

You are missing out of 3 1/2 hours of sleep, thats why you are tired.

Maybe your routines are making you too exhausted. The stress of work, fitting fit and caring for teenage boys may be giving you fatigue. Try and relax, don't push yourself too hard at the gym. I know you can't sleep more, but try and cut down on leisure things so you can get one or two more hours sleep. Sleep deprivation can be bad on your health.

I say put those boys of yours to work! haha. let them pamper you for a day. let them know that you are just stressed out and would like for them to do the cooking, cleaning, and a few other small things. they should be thankful for having you in their life and willing to give you this day for yourself. If this doesnt work, you could always do what others suggested and try to get your 'me' time more often. I'm not sure about you, but i know i feel more energized after going to the gym so if it was me, i would still continue that on your regular basis because it is so hard to start that up again if you stop for a small amount of time. just try to relax more and like always, just make sure your diet is suitable too. good luck!!

It sounds as though you're exhausted. I would skip a day at the gym, and just relax. Have yourself some "me" time.

You need to slow down and smell the roses! Sounds like too much stress and not enough rest.
