Have you ever had a blood clot in your leg?

If so, what treatment did you get?

Update:

I do have DVT. I have been diagnosed. I am on medications.

I am on WARFRIN Tablets.

I just got out of Hospital

    Yes I've had 2 now. I wish I could remember in more detail what happened so you would have a better idea. Both times I was put on an IV. Not sure why, but I guess it helped. Then I was given a shot in the stomach. It was a blood thinner of some sort. Both times I had to stay overnight until I could get an ultrasound done the next day. (I always went in at night because I was scared. By the time I had the courage to go, it was late!) Then after the ultasound confirmed both times that the clots in my leg were superficial and not Deep Veined Thrombosis, I was sent home and told to take aspirin and stay off of it for a few days. I actually have the symptoms of another right now, and am dreading going to the hospital.

    Heparin is the general course of treatment for a blood clot. Also, if it's a big clot and you have a confirmed diagnosis of that, you should probably be in the hospital. Blood clots in your legs have a tendency to move and end up in your lungs or heart.
